Didcot, Abingdon & Wantage Talking Newspaper

The Copying Engineer prepares the USB memory sticks for the listeners.

Once all of the received pouches have been opened, the Copying Engineer plugs the returned memory sticks into a special machine to ensure that they are all properly erased. When the recording session is complete, the "master" USB memory stick is used with the same machine to duplicate the hundred or so memory sticks for posting out to our listeners.

The Copying Engineer will normally check a selection of the copied sticks to be sure that they play correctly. Once the required number of sticks have been copied, the Administration volunteers put them in addressed yellow pouches, pre-sorted by local postcode, ready for collection by the postman the next morning.
