Using a small mixing desk connected to a laptop running specific Talking Newspaper recording software, the Recording Engineer ensures the clarity of each article being read. Any mistakes or fits of giggles ('corpsing'!) can be edited out. Once all articles have been recorded, the Recording Engineer adds the DAWN jingle to the start of the recording and a pre-chosen selection of RNIB magazine articles to the end. A “master” USB memory stick is then created for the Copying Engineer to duplicate the necessary hundred or so times.
